ALL'S WELL-1740mm is correct aux belt,not 1750

Post by martint »

What i thought was me needing another crankshaft pulley wasnt, after all.
Got in touch with Barnetts'. The guy asked what size belt i had on it & he told me that the belt that was on car,was 10mm too long. Factors had given me a 1750mm belt goin by my car reg,but peugeot said it should be 1740mm.
Anyway i put new belt on, and voila no annoying rattle. Aahh heaven

Interesting that as every factors I rang asked me which one as they didnt know (even by reg!).

I went for a 1740 in the end luckily! The old one that came off was a 1745 which is weird. What year is your car?

2001 x reg. Weird eh. Think how many people have thought their tensioner etc was knackered only to find the wrong belts on it
