Re: Timing belt question
Took me over half a day to do mine, even someone competent tends to take 3-4 hours......

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

ye a decent garage local to you should be around £150. delear will probably double that
if you can travel to the blackburn area and wait around then send jasper5 a message. he did mine on my 1.9 td 406.
the guy knows what hes doing proper. i wouldnt use any1 else now for this sort of job

As Gary said, I'm from East Lancashire.
Re: Timing belt question
Just had it changed for £60 labour plus the price of a fan belt he said was worn.

Re: Timing belt question
What about the water pump and tensioner kit? You need to take the timing belt off to change those anyway, and they're such cheap parts it's not worth scrimping on them; if the water pump seizes or a tensioner fails the belt may snap or dislodge anyway

Re: Timing belt question
I bought the kit from ebay before christmas think it was £48 tensioners and belt so today i just paid for labour, he checked the water pump as i requested plus anything else while he was in there and apart from fan belt he said all was fine.
