How do you find the build code,when i look for parts it often says untill build code #### or from build code ####,how do i find this?,is it incorporated in the vin code somewhere?

(It's on one of the stickers on the driver's door post.)
It's the first five digits you're after.

Cheers,Just had a look and i've got 098248920306,would i be right in thinking then that the code is (0)9824? The paint code i think is EKQD then which is also on the A post sticker.

That gives a build date of 2003-09-01. Sound right?

Sounds about right,it was registered Dec 03 so it could have been stood about for a couple of months.

The D8 build and paint codes are painted on the n/s strut mount under the bonnet. Dunno about the new hdi, but none of my previous 406s have had a sticker on the door post. I think one of them had a tyre pressure sticker on the inside of the filler flap though

D9's - it's on the inside of the A post on saloons / estates & on the edge of the door on coupes
