Exhaust Rattle

Post by leestudd30 »

As above lol. When it was checked out, I was led to believe that the baffles in the centre box are shot, as the exhaust is definately not loose but there is a obvious rattling sound when the cars idling and when I accelerate hard, which sounds like its right below me. Will it pass an MOT like that? The rest of exhaust is as quiet as it should be.

As far as I'm aware exhaust checks are;

It must be secure
No leaks
Does not excede specified noise level
Emissions/smoke test

Might be worth calling in at a test station and asking but I'm pretty sure it's an annoyance for the driver and not an MOT failure.
