Can someone confirm whether or not there is a cam belt kit for the 1.9td LX or is it just a belt?
I just called in at a local garage for a quote on a cam belt change and auto data said there were no tensioners etc to change just the belt, is that right?
After checking the history on my new car the cambelt is less than 10,000 miles old but as the previous owner was putting stupidly low mileage on it that could have been 9 or 10 years ago!!!!

I recently changed the timing belt kit for Gary406.
There is a tensioner, guide roller and belt in the kit.
Changing the tensioner is quite a git of a job as you have to remove the engine mounting bracket that bolts onto the engine....the bracket bolts are also some of the tensioner mounting bolts.

definately change the whole lot. when jasper removed my tensioner and guide roller . there was a lot of play in both clearly not good to put a new belt on old tensioners and guide rollers..

thanks for the offer Mike, you're not that far away so be careful what you offer
I'll be doing it myself while my mechanic mate laughs and points at my spanner skills.
I only asked at the garage as they're walking distance from work and it would mean sitting in a warm dry office instead of scraping my knuckles in the cold and damp, but as he seemed to think it was just a belt to change I'd rather do it myself and know the full kit, water pump and aux belt had been changed.
