Cheers omega,

what imeant was, will a pump off a 1.9 Xud bolt on a hdi engine,
theres a thread on another forum, converting hdi to xud pump so itl run on cooking oil,

sounds good but, wouid it work,

Thread on the other forum just went dead, possible but costly was the last breath of it, :?

i dunno how the hdi pump works but the xud is mechanical. runs off the timing belt.
isnt the hdi electronic.? so would be good to see how that transplant would be done

The other forum is citreon related,
but still, on topic of hdi engine thats what got me thinking,

but, xud is timed pump hdi isnt, the Hdi pump is just dependant on ecu ithink icouid be wrong tho, :?
so theres the confusing bit, ecu, timing and injectors pipes etc,

think he meant change the whole lump/engine ...
why he would do that is beyond me. way to much work to justify doing that...

sell the car and buy an xud car :?

Isn't the HDi a modified 1.9 XUD? It even shares the same crank IIRC. I can't imagine fitting the Bosch pump off an XUD would be completely impossible, tho you might have to play silly burgers with the head. I reckon the biggest headache would be getting the BSI to play ball...
