Sick 406

Hi fellas, my car is sick
I bought the car (Rapier saloon 2lt HDI on an X plate) at the end of september 2010, the only problem I had was I broke the air mass thingy whislt giving it a clean, that was very soon after buying the car. MOT came round in March and went through no problem apart from 2 discs and pads and a wiper. At the end of september last year I decided to take the car off the road for 3 months and use my newly aquired motorbike
Anyway, I taxed and insured the car again a couple of days ago and now it's gone into safety mode with EML on and antipollution fault lit up, the car was running fine when I parked it up and in the year that I used it I cavered very few miles, less than 1500. It had become quite damp inside whilst parked up so I was wondering if the drivers side connectors in footwell would cause the antipollution fault if they were damp or corroded, I did disconnect the battery and clean every connector that I could get to under the bonnet and followed the correct procedure for re-connecting the battery. I know it should have a code reader putting on it but at the moment thats not possible
Having the car not working isn't to much of a problem as I have my van and bike but I've just taxed and insured it again it would be nice to use it.
I'm hoping that you guys can help me out on this.
Many thanks
Tom
