D8 diesel turbo question

can anyone tell me if the turbo's are the same on a 1.9td and a hdi 90 ?my local breaker has a few hdi's and if the price is right i might swap the turbo to see if i can get all my horses back

Different part numbers, the pictures look rather different too. The D9 turbo is worked by a vacuum solenoid but I don't know about the td.

Thanks for the info Steve, just thought it would be a cheap way to check why I've lost so much power. She's really struggling to pull up hills and struggles to hit 90 on the flat (On private roads obviously) :cheesy:

D8's are getting thin on the ground now to scavenge parts!!!!

That reminds me, I seem to remember D9 rear seats don't fit D8's am I right ?

I saw a very nice interior at the breakers yesterday which would tidy mine up a treat, different trim so I'd need to do all the seats in one go, was thinking about swiping the carpets and door cards if they can be modded from D9 to D8, the silver trimmed D9 dash vents are sitting nicely in my D8 now :D

The back seats on the saloon need to be modified, there's a thread somewhere...

The turbos on these are fairly durable and usually don't give trouble, from what I hear. Perhaps another issue? Leaking boost somewhere in the pipework, or air ingress on the fuel line?

Also check fuel filter & in-tank strainer.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
