Do u think this noise is the crankshaft pulley?

Post by phill344 »

Hi,

Ive had this noise for a while. It only happens when engine is cold and once warmed up it goes. Also whilst its making the noise the lights will flicker when the engine revs up and down but once it is warm it all stops. Noise is more noticeable when more electrics are used.

Heres some links to video clips i took.

If anyone could have a listen and give me any ideas that would be great!

Thanks
Phill :D

Take off the alternator belt and run the engine.

No noise means alternator pulley is your problem.

Noise still there means crank pulley is your problem.....or timing belt pulleys/water pump.

Simples :cheesy:

Lol your talking to someone with no clue about cars haha!

As the noise gets louder when more electricals are on wouldn't that suggest something with aux belt pulleys?

Cheers

Possibly, or the alternator pulley.

You need someone that knows about cars to look at it then.
