And today's word is "probably" :?

I'm not sure what's in the kit (belt, tensioner, idlers, waterpump, crank sprocket?) so if you list the parts I can go off and check them on Service Box.

I know for sure that there are 2 types of cambelt kit.

They have a different length of belt and a different tensioner.

I've been supplied the wrong one more than once.

Steve is the man though for expert servicebox advice...I can never fathom servicebox...it's my age you see

Piffle, it is confusing and you need OCD to work out how to use it - I'm in and out of it all the time but it still confuses me.

Like now for instance - it only lists 1 belt for all DW10s Image

This might be the problem:
0831 82 - MOTOR KIT (comprising roller, tension roller and belt) - UNTIL RPO No. 08735
0831 V3 - SINCE RPO No. 08736
The belts are the same but the rollers are both different.
The magic date is Tue 10 Oct 2000 (fingers crossed!)

The 306 was registered 22 Jun 2000 with a vin ending 08721,so what does it make it? Wrong knowing my luck.I bought the 306 of a mate who needed the space quickly as he had another car coming,he neglected to tell me that it had not had a cambelt change and it's done 75k and i had'nt factored a belt change into the deal,i only bought it to sell it on and make a buck or two but bang goes that theory!

Edit: I did write that the vin number isn't the same as the RPO but I just realised it's irrelevant because of the registration date :(

Edit edit: If it was registered in June it was definitely built before October.

75k is kind of in between - you should really change it, especially if you don't know how it's been driven or owt but it might last long enough for you to ebay your timing belt & pick up the right one. Also the HDis are designed to survive cambelt failure - you *should* just loose all the rockers.I wouldn't fancy this myself TBH but I have enough to worry about, without listening for my engine to go bang at the worst possible moment.

Perhaps it might just have a belt change then and not pulleys
