It's too bloody cold to go outside and lie on the car park but I believe the drain is bottom laft as you face the car. if nothing is coming out it's probably blocked, try gently jigglig a small screwdriver in the hole and pop the cap off the expansion tank to increase the pressure at the bottom of the circuit.

I changed the antifreeze on my 2.1 a couple of weeks ago, that plug at the bottom unscrews completely and can be removed if needed. I had no problems bleeding the system at all, despite reading how difficult these are to bleed, I just poured 4 litres of water in first and topped up with 4 litres of antifreeze, did the usual squeezing of the rad pipes and all was done. One thing I will mention though, the plastic bleed screw on the small return pipe is very easily damaged, I had to replace it with a bolt of the same size, works a treat, but the actual opening in the pipe was blocked with carp, so if you have trouble bleeding then you may want to investigate this, I poked it with a small allen key and un-blocked no problem. Ready for another winter :cheesy:
