The reason the hose has blown is because the engine is moving too much on its mounts - the rear lower mount mostly. The movement causes the I/C hose to rub on a lug/bracket for the radiator up front and puts a hole underneath the hose.
Oil in the intercooler is normal, oil pissing out all over the KKK turbo is expected too, my turbo was caked in oil but still boosted away like a trooper. The I/C shouldn't be *full* of oil (if it was then your engine would blow itself to bits) but you should see, like, half a cup of oil come out.
Turbo 'failure' on the HDi is virtually unheard of.
You may well find the exhaust flexi down-pipe has also suffered from the engine movement and might have a hole in it.
All of this stuff is common and an unfortunate down-side to the HDi as it ages.

Hi Thank you for the reply .The bottom engine mount is ok as it was replaced quite recently .Also the hose is well clear of any brackets .The pipe went when i was on the motorway and oil mist had spread under the car which is why i was suspecting that the turbo oil seals maybe worn as engine oil will soften the hose internally i would have thought. After all the car has done 170,000 miles so things will be getting worn no doubt.Iwas wondering if anyone had a turbo for sale
Thank you
