loss of power, cutting out

right, ive had my new 406 for about a month now but has had a problem which gradually got worse over time, and at times makes the car undriveable, it looses power then will slow all the way down to a stop and stall but will restart no problem, but sometimes will stall soon after starting, after this it may happen again and again untill it becomes unbearable to drive or will just be perfect again and drive faultlessly, its very intermittent and happens whenever it wants
so far ive tried 3 tdc sensors, 1 stepper motor, spark plugs, fuel filter, injector cleaner, inlet air temp sensor, map sensor, cleaned throttle housing and changed the cambelt, waterpump and tensioner.
there are no faults logged
also i just realised im getting awful fuel consumption, its been getting no better than 16mpg since ive had it
this is driving me absolutley mad so if anyone could help i would much appreciate it
