Thanks to everyone to helped me

Post by millard »

Only had the car about a month and one thing led to another but ended up changing the alternator, water pump, timing belt and tensioners, aux belt & front fog lamp.
I only had a crappy DVD type manual so relied very heavily on the knowledge base and advise from forum members.
I did it outside during the coldest spell we've had in a while so it took much longer than expected, also hit a few wee problems here and there, but, tonight it's been for a short test run and everything seems fine :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

so a big THANK YOU to the forum for all your help.
cheers
Millard

ps, the test run was down to the local car spares shop to get a Haynes manual

did you change the aux belt tensioner ?

if not keep an eye on it , mine failed 2 months after fitting a brand new belt

nah it might not go dont worry

just meant as a reminder for you cos if the aux belt comes off it most certainly will get tangled up in the timing belt,,

usually goes noisey wen there going, just check it now and then make sure belt is running in the center of it and smooth

If belt does go at least (providing battery is good ) you should be able to start and run ...... a bit more difficult with a perv machine
