I'm running on 19" atm with 3 Pirelli Pzero Nero's and brand new Kumho on OSR.
The grip is excellent and the Pirelli are prob at about 2-3mm.

I'll be replacing the Pirelli's with Kumho, or buy new 17" Alloys & tyres.

The best tyres I've had on my 406 are by far Hankook Optimo K406s.
Excellent grip in Wet and Dry and great stability at cruising speeds. They wear very slowly too.

However, I'll be going for these next month:
Vredestein

Their performance looks awesome.... will road test and report my findings!

Where do you live?? because that would explain it ! ! The only reason they tell you to do that is so that you have to buy another 2 tyres again so soon... lol

You are right in one case, yes its front wheel drive and so there is power to the front wheels and the weight of the engine, what do you have at the rear??? thats it no drive and so no control... if your tyres are poor on the rear then expect the back end to slide out, this is why you should put the best tyres to the rear and not swap them over when the fronts are part worn ! ! ! DOH ! ! !

New tyres on rear for definate. ;)
Got hold of my Goodyear eagle nct 5s for ?50 a corner.

Kumhos are good aswell, as I have these on the saxo.

Not sure if you have got your tyres sorted yet, but if you know some who shops at a CostCO, then apparently they do decent prices on the likes of goodyears, and other decent rubber.

The GoodYear Hydrogrip are supposed to be very good, but are also very soft, so supposedly wont last as long.
