coolant temp gauge

Post by marcus »

Hi,

I've just bought a 406 HDI 90 2001. The coolant temp. gauge is erratic but once warmed up shows about 88. This seems a bit high to me but what do I know? can anyone tell me what I should expect the temp to be once warmed up in an average situation? Cheers

I think that seems about right.
Could be wrong, but I am sure most cars run about 90.

For some reason about half way up the gauge seems to ring a bell, what ever that temp is ;)

My HDi 110 temperature gauge points directly at the number 9 of the 90 on the gauge, and always has done.

Don't forget Diesels take forevAr to reach operating temperature! well, longer than Petrols anyway.
