fuel pressure sensor? Main pump failure? A leak? A blockage?

What a Bummer

What did they do to determine the HP pump was worn?

I had heard that if your low pressure fuel pump goes you should change all the fuel lines, fuel filter and housing and fuel tank too, otherwise the bits from the tank pump kill the high pressure pump

It allways seems to be the 110 bhp that suffers from fuel pump faliure, never the 90?

Also a nice tank full of Unleaded does nothing to help the pump(s).

On some cars you might just get away with it if your quick, but the damage is done, the pump will still fail later on.

Tis a real shame the HP pump is so expensive, it won't be long before a pump failure will effectively write the car off :|

the pump has to be removed and checked on a fancy machine, should be a couple of hundred psi, someone told me about cleaning the pipes but i would think thats the case if the pump starts to break up i think i'll do mine anyway just to be sure
