hi guys was changing my glow plugs and got to the last one timing belt end and it snapped the threads out it never snapped at the thread snapped halfway down the metal shaft and its stuck there i can get a grip with mole grips as theres a copper tube or something stickin up in the center of it any idea how i can get this out

Argh, bugger! if you'd have asked here first every one of us would have told you not to bother changing them - they're not really needed for starting.

Someone like Jasper on here might be able to advise you further......

its one problem after another with the car i really hope i can get the rest of the plug out

whilst its a good idea to service the glow plugs , i thought they are mean't to assist the car in start-up in extremely cold weather (cold start).however i understand yours is an HDI engine which can easily start by the turn of the key without the need of the glow plugs.

That doesn't help the poor bloke out of his current predicament though does it?

yeah i do agree with you Teamster1975 the guy needs help but was just highlighting the things we do to our cars that can cause irreparable damage to the engines especially HDI which is 1 of the complex engines around.
my advice is to see a qualified diesel mechanic who can assist you in taking out the snapped glow plug with the right tools before you cause more damage if you can't do it yourself.i thought your link was an excellent 1.

This is a very difficult problem to solve, it could have happened to any of us at any time.
The only thing I can think of is to look at one of the other plugs and see if the middle bit can be removed without loads of crud falling into the cylinder (you will need to remove the middle bit even to use that excellent information that Teamster supplied), try knocking the middle bit inwards a little first to free it off...on one of the others first, then see if can be removed...maybe soak it for a while in WD40 or penetrating oil.
If it looks like you may drop lots of stuff inside the cylinder, you may have no choice but to remove the cylinder head and have an engineer remove it...that would be my concern anyway.
I feel for you, stuff like that is a nightmare to us pros who then have to explain what happened to the customer and how much it costs to put right, you can imagine what a customer might say....

Course then I snapped off the tip of the eazi out in the damn thing as well, which just made the situation worse...

driving along the motorway there and suddenly a big bang then rattling noise the car spat out the glow plug new one in car running once again just the modified wiring loom to get from peugeot for the rail sensor and hopefully that will be it
