hello all, my car recently had a water leak so the system was emptied to fix the cause ,
i re-filled it with 2 litres of anti freeze and rest water,
just wondering if thats enough anti freeze for those -8 winter mornings

-8 ha i laugh at your minus 8, Im set for -30 when the winter comes to Poland
what did the bottle say? or am i being daft and all anti-freeze is the same?
surely there was some sort of indication or mixing ratio on the side of the bottle

I seem to remember there were parts of GB with stupidly low temperatures last winter.
Anyway, it's not really just antifreeze, it's also important to stop the inside of your engine corroding...

I'm not sure to be honest! I usually mix together 1/2 a gallon of red antifreeze & 1/2 gallon of distilled water, maybe a litre left over?

I bought an antifreeze tester for about £5 a few years ago just to check mine. I figured it was a lot cheaper than a new engine.
