hey guys, i was trying to replace my lower arms and ball joints on my 2001 406 v6 saloon and cannot get the ball joint out of the hub :frown:.Tried to get the ball joint off with the special sealey tool i bought and it still wont budge, took the hub off and took it to a mate with a powerful impact driver and still wouldn't budge (started to knacker the point where the tool goes into the balljoint too) so does anyone have a method of getting it out? any method that will work il try as my car is now on axle stands, thanks guys

May aswell soak it in WD40 overnight to see if that helps. If not, heat?

I'd suggest the overnight soak and the heat methods too - it's not uncommon for them to be nicely seized :(

took them to a local garage and he welded a bar to them and got them out that way, i got him to put the new ones in at the same time, only cost £20 so not too bad, all fitted back onto the car now, feels so much better :cheesy:
