Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
I think you only need the PP2000 stuff. and maybe the usb driver, I'm not sure.
The old software (up to 508 excluded) is Peugeot Planet Office / PP2000, the new software (508 included) is called Diagbox. IMHO it is not yet mature, PP2000 does everything you may need on the 406. You need diagbox only if you have a 508, 208 etc. There are no new options/capabilities. Diagbox is still buggy.

Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
Ok have checked the injectorflow with pp2000 and the values are NOT good i guess. injector flow correction 2 is at 5. So if i understand it right now (new to peugeot and pp2000) Injector 2 is in very bad shape. All the others show negative numbers. Suppose its beyond saving that injector (2?). Would be very happy for help

Values less than zero also may mean bad injectors. The absolute value must be small. So if they say -4 they are bad too.
Yes you must clean injector 2. At that point an injector cleaner will not solve the issue. You must get to an injector specialist, he'll clean and repair that for you and replace the too-worn-to-clean parts. It's expensive. Here it is at least 60 pounds per injector

Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
And even more expensive here in sweden. So not an option for me to take it to a specialist. Have read a bit all around about injectors, removal, cleaning etc etc and it appares they can be quite stuck in 2.2 hdi. Anyways i will try get it loose, carefully of course. If it wont budge i get me one of those ebaykits for injectorremoval. Found quite a few for around 100€. Found also uk shops that sells fixed injectors and one Latvian one with reasonable prices. Not the first car im working with, had some bimmers and japaneese cars that i have been fixing with, but this is my first diesel and there is some new stuff to learn:).. So, injector 2.. witch one is it? Lets say looking from inside the car from left to right? Dont say driversside or so.. makes me confused ;)We sit on the left side while you brits and japaneese for that matter sit on the right side.
Know of any good description, guide about how to get those injectors out etc etc.. Have found some diffuse ones, but pharps you folks with a lot more knowledge than I, know of better guides or even can describe how to without specialist tools and so on.
Would be very happy for help, cant afford to leave it to mechanic and buy too expensive stuff to it right now. Im on a tight budget.

Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
I think you are right with injector numbering.
Yes, they can be VERY stuck. almost impossible to remove. Impossible to remove without special equipment, often.
Tips:
soak them in WD40 or coca-cola (which seems better, but I wouldn't want that to enter my cylinders) for the week before the removal.
Remove when cold. Maybe it'd be interesting to try cool them down faster than the engine block, for example with a bag of ice. I've never tried that but it may help if you are fast enough.
there is a couple of couter torx screws you can use to help the injector come out. Pay attention not to break them.
Remember to replace the plastic and the copper washers.
do not hit the injectors hard or you'll risk to damage them
to help removal you can carefully tap them with a rubber hammer

Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
I think the number four is the one belt side (right if you sit inside the car). But I may absolutely be wrong in this. I know I have read it somewhere...vonEnoch wrote:Thanx .. EDIT: ok so I have a diagram which shows injector number 4 is the one the other side, left looking from inside the car. But I'm not sure of that too, it's a PSA document but ir really does not state that clearly. Your best bet is to unplug an injector and see which pp2000 fault it'll bring up, it will tell you it's number, than you can cancel the fault.

Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
Ahh.. didnt think about that Yes will unplug the right one and if its number one as it might be according to your understanding the next one should be 2 then. Will try that. Have soaked down around injectors with plenty of wd40 now. Will let it be there until tomorrow and dry all up then. Loosen the faulty injector and se if it needs more convincing to come loose. If, i will pour a small bottle of good fresh coke there and wait anothoer day. And about cooling down the injector. Good idea actually, think i will use some kind of gas to cool it down to little below 0c. Should shrink a bit and come loose easier.

Let me know if it works for you, I have some job to on my injectors on tuesday and if it works I'm definitely going to have a try with a can of spray ice.vonEnoch wrote:Ahh.. didnt think about that Yes will unplug the right one and if its number one as it might be according to your understanding the next one should be 2 then. Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
Yes i will inform here how it goes
Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
Ah....today i will dive under the hood and try get loose the injector... Got myself Rostflash (crc) that cools down things to -40 and removes rust. Have had the injectors soaked with WD40 for some days now. Of course i will try first without the -40 stuff but if it wont budge easy i will spray the injector in question, wait a couple of minutes and then try get it loose. Dont have panic anymore to get the 406 running... got myself a "panic car" (mx6 v6)... But will post here how it goes and if i need to use the -40 stuff i will inform about results here.

Re: 406 2.2 hdi air in system?
I aquired a can of this just before removing my injectors, but found after a soak with good old fashioned WD40, they were all waiting impatiently to go out for the day, so never got to try it.steve_earwig wrote:Looks like interesting stuff - http://www.ambersil.com/csp/web/ProdDis ...
