Back on the road

Post by roton600 »

Got my car back today, all fixed, after my saga with the clutch. So glad i decided to get it fixed.

At last i have found a reliable, really helpful mechanic, with good rates; Motorwize in Hartley Wintney

dropped the car off this morning, was lent a car foc, just add fuel, clutch all changed and while it was there got the fuel filter changed, he even went through while i watched him do the fuel filter, so next time i will do myself, its really easy!

The previous owner had the clutch changed by Mr Clutch just over 2 years ago and after 23000ish miles, the clutch plate has failed, one of the springs had broken off, was lucky it had not damaged the flywheel.

So lovely driving it again

Nice :cheesy: Shame Mr Crutch messed up but good you figured it out.

Any idea of the make of the old plate? One to avoid...

Sorry did not look at the make, so cant help, i nearly took it and boxed it up and sent it to Mr Clutch with all the information. But thought not much point as was not done my me. But everyone i talk to seems to say they use poor quality parts and dont always change the complete kit, so beware.

Sachs or valeo seem to be the ones most people use.
