Random temp thing

Ive just noticed over the last week that my temp guage doesnt go upto 90 anymore.It stays somewhere between 70 ( i think it is without going to check) and 90.aAn anyone give me any ideas as to what it is??

Mmm thanks,Im still getting warm and cold air so nothings amiss there its just strange,I initially put it down to my trips to and from work which are 30 miles of A road and the air rushing over the rad keeping it lower.But its just been round town and its low again.
Is is a big job?

Changing the stat? Nah. Not on mine, leastways - old one comes out, new one goes in. What mark's your ride?

Its a 1749cc D9.
Another thing,it does get to 90 at idle but moves down again when moving.

Its sorted,I took the expansion tank cap off,started the car,squeezed the rad top hose and screwed the lid back on.Voila.
