Absolutley, I've had no issues with mine at all 8)

And my in-tank fuel pump is not grumbling badly and it didn't refuse to work twice on Friday and I didn't leave my car at home all weekend for fear of it breaking down no I didn't. :|

Actually no! I've done so much recently I've vertually got a brand new 406 again

I'm certainly going to see out the winter in it (oh sh*t the MOT's in January) and then we'll see but really I should get 2 years now of no-maintenance pay back time :P

As you are well aware Welly I keep getting the get rid bug BUT and it is a big BUT. I have decided to run it into the ground before i part as its cost me sh*t loads!! The last major spend will be in december new cambelt water pump and tensioner around £200 to £300 i think. Then anything more than its worth and it will be gone. Would hate see someone driving it around saying best car I have ever had knowing full well you have sold it and have a new so called better car not being reliable etc... Have been down that road before. Also they soak up miles oh so well 8) . Coverd a 1000 miles this w end if its comfort and economy that will be a 406 HDI then :D

Yeah it's funny the 406 must be the most forgiven car out there! it hurts, humiliates and teases us and yet we allways come back for more :)

It's quite good at the moment to just be smug and pootle around knowing there's no finance to worry about and no-one will steal it.

I think it's one of those cars we'll all look back on with fondness :D

Happy days.

Yes i think welly, it will be like the legend that is the 205 GTI. But for the family man. I still look at mint 205's driving around which is rare and think back what a great hot hatch.

I guess we will be doing the same about the 406. It does what it says on the tin a great family car.

Have to say my mate is selling is 407 hdi 136 and having been reading the reviews i would not touch one with a barge pole.

Like i said in an earlier thread I think I will be having alfa 159 diesel or the new shape honda accord diesel if the reviews are still as good when my 406 decides to die.

LONG LIVE THE 406 AND NO FINANCE TO PAY 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
