Re: Servicing
One thing this reminds me of is the pump for coolant removal with no air locks. I was going to buy one of those coolant pumps for my troublesome 405 1.7td and my brother pointed out the effect it could have on the seals and the after effect of negative force as opposed to the force they have become accustomed to. Seals can be funny things even when seated and sealed correctly.
Just thought I'd raise a point of caution.

Re: Servicing
Personally i rather remove the plug (and let it drain for about a hour) than suck the oil out. your not going to get all the nasty crap sat in the very bottom of the sump using the sucker.
remove the under guard is a pain thou!

Re: Servicing
That's what I'm wondering about. Mine's just due a service (oh no, another round of "what oil's any good here??") and, as I ain't got the aforementioned sucky thing, I'll be doing the ol' fashioned way but when I do get one (on the list for the next round of visits in the autumn 'cos I can't find one here) I'll think I'll do it with the sucker first and then take the plug off and see how much more crap comes out.mbell666 wrote:...your not going to get all the nasty crap sat in the very bottom of the sump using the sucker.
Neither of mine had them from new (according to Service Pox) so I'm spared that particular pleasure.remove the under guard is a pain thou!
