Hi all
Not sure if this is the right place for this post so let me know if its wrong.
Anyway I have a phase 2 406 1.8 16v shell (D9??); it’s an early phase 2 with the old 16v XU engine as apposed to the newer EW engine. I also have a crash damaged SRI Turbo and wondered about the feasibility of putting that engine into the phase 2 shell? The immediate things that spring to mind are the wiring loom, the top engine mount, fuel pump and gearbox (want to keep the SRI box so would need to transplant the clutch master cylinder as the 1.8 is cable). If it would work out to be a lot of work I’ll forget the idea but just thought that as I have both available to me it might be worth a shot. If anyone has any idea of the work that might be involved I would very much appreciate the input.
Thanks in advance
Andy

I'd find out if the electronics-heavy D9 systems can work with a D8 ECU before you look at anything else
