Ive got a 2003 406 110 hp hdi ... there is a knocking sound on acceleration sounding like piston slap or little end knock.The emgine runs great but on 120000 and i am considering a replacement engine .. I can get one for around £500 , will I have any problem doing a swap eg ECU compatibility or any special tools required.engine swap

at what RPM does the noise occur, could be worn injectors which i wouldnt be supprised of at that mileage, does it start ok from hot or cold?
