Defap and remap Exeter?

Post by rupesmcd »

Hi all,
Happy new year! Im after a defap and remap in Exeter/newton abbot/torbay. Got the DPF clean me warnings on the dash, and want to get rid of it. Anyone know of anywhere? Don't want to spend a fortune, still reeling from Christmas!

I'm by no means an expert on the subject, but I believe the best course of action may be to buy the remapping tool (can't remember what it's called, sorry, but I think it's relatively cheap - a search on this site should yield results here) and defap your existing map yourself. Check it's all good in isolation, then google "exeter remaps" and find someone local to remap you if you get no other recommendations. You may need to then re-defap yourself or work with the re-mapper to do it. Maybe.

Yeah, I'm not being particularly helpful here am I :( However I am making it clear to anyone else reading this that you're not looking for freebies and thus are not in violation of our new rule: viewtopic.php?t=21237 so I guess I am being helpful after all

Update- I've defapped it myself and now await the galletto to do the scary bit. Now in limp mode. Limping :( anyone out there considering this should be sure to have a good space to do the exhaust bit- ideally a proper ramp or pit, you'll need decent socket extension bars too (long ones). I did mine on the floor of a barn, and this morning I hurt. :?

The chaps on the coupe site use a jackhammer on their FAPs.!!

The Galletto is relatively straightforward, I have one but I haven't the confidence to use it so I get my remaps done when I'm at a 406 meet.. :supafrisk:

Working on exhausts on axle stands is a pain.

 I've never had to remove a dpf element more than once. :?

Has yours grown back, someone 'fixed' it, or are you guiding another convert along the path of FAP-free enlightenment?

Another convert ;) new member on the Coupe forum needs the work done as his additive pump is dead.

I did my second Coupe the lazy way, took the whole exhaust and canister off the old one, was much easier!!

Galetto is here and thinking of taking the plunge tonight. :? Then I need to sort out the door seals, and door locks. After these things it might be like a normal car again!
