Anyone got any tips on removing a 406 1.9td engine. or if not a few pointers on the sequence in order to make it easy.

I would remove engine and gearbox together.

This is just me thinking theory here; but:
If you remove just enough on the left side that you can pull the gearbox off the engine and leave it in, then actually removing the engine should simply be two mounts, exhaust, water hoses, fuel hoses and a few connectors.
Last time I did it it was all inclusive. Take your time and remove the engine mount on the gearbox completely, that thing is the most annoying bit on the whole engine:)
