Hi archangel, my heater blower stopped working a while ago. I checked all sorts and asked questions. It eventually tracked down to the ignition barrel. When I start the car and the fan does not run then I just hold the ignition key and put a small amount of upward presure on it and the fan starts ok. It has something to do with the cables on the back of the switch I think being loose or the age thing where they come loose. I have not bothered to remove anyting on mine because I am lazy. Sorry I dont know how to get the matrix out.

Matrix is a pain to remove,

the dashboard support bar gets in the way,

iused a peice of one of them metal Broom handles,
once, its the right thickness  (U-shaped loop is best imo, copper pipe and pipe bender needed for that tho)

But make sure you get all the airlocks out of it , if you by pass-it,
ive seen headgaskets blow after people have by passed Matrix, be carefull mate,
