this car is my second 406 110 hdi, this is 2001y, I have had the car for just over a year, covering 20k , the computer has always showed just over 50 mpg, just had the car serviced & Mot'd ,no problem. The car suddenly now shows 42.6 mpg ????
What would cause this, Anybody any ideas?

Re: drop in mpg?????
iwouidnt worry about it, if its only just gone lower after amot or service,
the Mpg dropped on the old 406 ihad after Mot,
ithink they must of been Revin it , for smoke Test
Mpg soon returned back to normal after a decent run, (motorway driving)

Weird eh. Mines went down to 42 as well. But then found out the mot tester put some forte in and thrashed its arse off for few miles....PASS!
Re: drop in mpg?????
Thanks
I think your right, the average seems to be creeping back up, also noticed the computer resets and therefore average taken over small mileage
