Re: HDI 90 engine issue

I've only ever owned one Japanese car - albeit in disguise... A 1983 Triumph Acclaim :cheesy: It was brilliant - reliable, comfortable, surprisingly well built, easy to work on ( the different size bolts were colour coded..! ) and fairly nippy for a 1.3. It was a grandad style car so I never got pu...

Yes thanks Steve,
I had a 2001 Toyota Avensis 2.0 16v pezzer,
The most reliable car I've ever owned, but S.W.M.B.O hated it, said it was a mini cab

Re: HDI 90 engine issue

That first picture with the wire, That's just the outer insulation broken through it going brittle. This problem get's worse the older the car get's & Peugeot are renowned for small gauge low quality wire & plugs  I personally wouldn't waste my money on a used MAF. Just drive round with yours ...

Re: HDI 90 engine issue

If it's still the o.e maf then it'll be done for, These go out of trim through use. Always go for a genuine one, not a cheep eBay one as it'll be no better if not worse. You can always try unplugging your's, I can't remember if it works on the Siemens 90bhp but it works on the Bosch 110bhp. Must be ...

Re: Sits too high at the back?

It's a bit firmer obviously, but not in a bad way. It hasn't ruined it (for me anyway) Also it doesn't roll into the bends as much (which I prefer). But yes I'm very happy overall & they are good quality & have done over 50k with them fitted. Mainly due to being new & 40mm lower As the spring rate i...

Re: Anyone breaking a 99 406?

Not so sure about that, it's not the hose that's gone, it's the metal pipe. The heat shield sawed through the pipe and I don't have the whole of the pipe anymore, it dropped off somewhere. Can pirtek form the nipple that is screwed into the steering box? Also as stated I don't have the whole part a...

This has been discussed quite a bit now over the last few years on here & the Coupe club forum
Go to your local Pirtek with your old one & they'll make you up a replacement better than oe.

If the lacquer came off that easy it's been painted before 'badly'

I've had two Diablo red V6 Coupe's, you can't do anything with the paint fade/uv discoloration
Except for a respray :(

Lovely colour, but doesn't age well.

Re: Estate Badge Removal & Possible Refurb

The best bet is to get creative & refurb your own original one,
Polish up the original aluminium badge centre, place on top a suitable lion emblem,
Spray gloss or satin black,
Remove emblem with a scaple point,
Clear lacquer,
Stand back & admire your handiwork :cheesy:

Re: 2014 508 2.2HDi GT Auto - what kind of auto?

Steve I have a hatred of slushmatics for a reason & the 535d is only available with a poxy slushmatic & guess what it probably needs a full rebuild at £2.5k + vat. Doggy it's a zf6hp26 (6speed) the eight speed is supposed to be much better BUT They all have a lot of part's that wear out eventually, ...
