Re: Off to look at a coupe tomorrow

Just be glad it was your old car rather than your new one that was hit. saloon parts are a lot cheaper adn easier to come by.

Glad you've found a good one anyway. It was only a week away, so coupe ownership is still very fresh to me.

Re: Off to look at a coupe tomorrow

Could be any colour Dai, could be S or SE. Check ALL the electrics. If you get a brake fault on the screen when you start up, it's probably a false alarm, caused by starting the car too quick. Check both door windows drop slightly when you open the door If it's an SE: check the sat nav (if you want ...

Re: It's gone, and I am now officially 'Mondeo Man'

I sat in the C5 a year ago, and I liked it. I can't remember now what it was like to compare with the Mondeo. The only thing I didn't like about the 407 and C5 is the company refuse to do a hatchback, and I didn't really need a saloon. Just a decent sized hatch.

Re: swapping sat nav units + cleaning them

Now I've got to admit this is sort of a hijack, but it's related.

If anyone is interested, I've got a working sat nav unit that I don't need anymore, £45 posted if anyone's interested.

Re: It's gone, and I am now officially 'Mondeo Man'

Aw lads, I'm overwhelmed at the niceness and warmth here. At a coupe forum I use, it was a different tone altogether. The general attitude was "oh, you've got a Mondeo have you. Never mind, someone's got to buy 'em. Shut the door on your way out". I've got to say, this Mondeo is growing on me big ti...

Re: It's gone, and I am now officially 'Mondeo Man'

No fancy cupholders unfortunately, just 2 holders in the centre console, very similar to the D9 406's. I've not sure on the back seat, there may be some in the armrest. And nothing out of the ordinary in storage either (not that I've found yet anyway). It's got MUCh bigger door pockets than the coup...

Re: It's gone, and I am now officially 'Mondeo Man'

Thank you Thank you Thank you! I didn't expect many nice comments on a Peugeot forum (and didn't get much on another one I've used regularly). It really is a lovely drive, and after a couple of days driving it, I'm now totally convinced I've done the right thing. My 406 was a nice drive, but this pu...

It's gone, and I am now officially 'Mondeo Man'

Saturday was a mixed emotions day. Good part was picking up my new car, but as a result, had to leave them with my 406. It's not that I regret changing, just that I'll never own a car like the coupe again. But 24 hours later, I'm happy I did the right thing, the Mondeo is a much better drive and bet...

Re: Au Revior - My Concorde moment is over

I'll still be sticking about, to see if there's anything I can help with. Over the years, I've had nearly every common fault there is, so I've got experience!

I'll be sure to post some pics up when I get it (hoping for this Friday, nice long weekend to play with my new toy!)

Re: Au Revior - My Concorde moment is over

it's a 2007 new shape Titanium X, with the 2.0 140bhp TDCi engine. Getting it next week. Still gutted about letting go of the 406, but the excitement for teh Mondeo is starting to build up and take over! Talking of size, my wife was impressed with the space in the back, and I couldn't believe the si...

Au Revior - My Concorde moment is over

After 4 and a half years of ownership, I've bitten the bullet and moved on to a 2007 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Titanium X. It's been an eventful time, and many a time have I felt like throwing my boot at the car, with its niggly common faults (of which it's had every one) but it's behaved itself for a long ti...

Re: 406 coupe safety

I very nearly got rid of the coupe when we were having a baby. Our baby is nearly 2 now and I can't say the coupe has caused a problem at all. In many ways, I think a 2/3 door car is easier for getting babies in and out the back (when they start getting fron facing) because you can 'sit' on the back...
