Re: Battery charging

Yes I agree, I think keeping the battery in good shape will extend it's life considerably, and having recently discovered the price of them  that can only be a good thing!! I've ordered a charger, surprisingly enough a CTEK one Steve. Reading various interweb informations they seem to be the ...

Re: Battery charging

Well the plot thickens, if I said AGM and EFB batteries I bet some of you would know all about them and others would be as bemused as I was. I've had a look at the battery and although it doesn't say so on the label, googling the part number leads me to believe that it's an AGM (Absorbant Glass Mat)...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

I have generally found if a car needs welding its about time for a new one Slightly different with the Jimny though, they've got a "traditional" chassis which Suzuki protect very well, I've never seen a rusty one. The body is a different matter, prone to a bit of rust but as it's not integral to th...

Re: Battery charging

Just turned 4 in July  Nah I don't think there's anything wrong with the alternator Welly, they're notorious for the battery needing to be fully charged before the stop/start will work. Imagine the amount of electrical gadgets on this thing that are sucking power from the battery, then I'm doi...

Battery charging

Still a bit nervous about vehicle electrics after owning Peugeots for a combined total of around 17 years  :cheesy: I'm getting the occasion "Battery Low" message and complete refusal of the stop/start system to work (not that that bothers me, if it worked I'd turn it off!). But it's got me t...

Re: and today i have mostly been...

What year is the C5? I do like the later ones.

What happens to the Jimny now then? Doesn't sound like a great deal of welding to me. I'm guessing the bits near the headlights are within 30cm of the front body mounts, and inner sills are a pretty standard repair.

Re: and today i have mostly been...

Dang jimny failed it's mot epically today. A fair bit of welding needed :( Time for another 406 me thinks..... Oh dear! My Suzuki was the sole reason I learned to weld! But I had the luxury of being able to strip it down in the garage and jack the body right off the chassis to repair all the boby m...

Re: Still running on me Winter Tyres!

I quite like that generation of Celicas (says the bloke who's sworn he'll never own a Japanese car, Jap 4X4s yes, but no Jap cars). Sounds like you've done well there. I wouldn't worry about the winters too much, I know people who've run them all year round including my local tyre shop's van! My win...

They did well to find it though, I uploaded the vid to Yew Chube but didn't publish or share it anywhere but this 'ere fo...
