Re: Backplates
I'm getting three new hand brake cables. Being fitted when new backplates go on. Is the genuine Peugeot part no. 4745L4 - correct for the front handbrake cable for a D9 406 with the rear discs and handbrake shoes set up? Does anyone have the part numbers for the rear left and the rear right handbrak...

Re: Backplates
Anyone driving about with spring(s) for the rear shoes held on by a nut and bolt held through a drilled hole in the backplate(s)? I have this set up at the moment, but will be getting new backplates soon. A quick visual on one of the back plates and there looks like a couple of largish holes due to ...

On the first page of the thread it mentions to change the wheel bearing as well when changing the backplate. Is it the 48 tooth ABS ring on integrated hub and rear wheel bearing on the 2.2 diesel (2003) 406?
Cheers

Re: Backplates
Hi I need to get 2 x Backplates and rear handbrake shoes (rear disc brakes, internal handbrake shoes) Backplates are corroded with holes causing the fitting kit for the internal shoes not to seat correctly. A temporary repair is in place currently. Backplates are £102 each from the main dealer and t...

Re: EGR problem?
Re: above Got the following codes from an OBDII reader: P0487 P1113 P0087 P0193 U0122 P0234 P0461 The bottom code is 'pending fault' all others current. P0461 must relate to the fuel gauge problem I have. From cold (usually overnight) it takes between 5-10 minutes to go from 'zero' to current fuel l...

EGR problem?
Hi Car is emitting white smoke at about 60 mph, car then loses acceleration as if in limp mode. At 30mph car is fine driving around town(no white smoke), white smoke and lack of acceleration problem starts at higher speeds. I recently had the EGR valve changed (a few months ago) Could this be a wiri...

Re: Strange Driverside (Electric) window behaviour
Hi
With regard to this repair, would you need to disconnect the battery before removal of the part? I'm planning on taking this part inside to do the fix as per the video (locking the car)
Thanks

Re: Strange Driverside (Electric) window behaviour
I'm getting the same sort of issue with my drivers electric window. Switch seems to be reversed, then it goes down by small increments and up by small increments (in reverse order to what switch does on all other three windows) I hear this can be just the switch as water can get in there. All other ...

Re: Fuel gauge
Hi Thanks for the reply. I was going to disconnect the battery tomorrow as it has been rainy this week so far. In that time the gauge started to 'come back' quicker from showing zero at cold maybe two minutes. I then tried getting out the car for about three minutes (when gauge was working OK), and ...

Re: Engine Immobiliser Fault
I had an intermittent start/non start issue.
Couldn't be traced for a while and then eventually it was traced to the high pressure fuel pump not generating the required 300bar.
Starts fine now and the acceleration seems better.

Fuel gauge
A strange fault with the fuel gauge (2003 2.2 hdi Exec) Starting from 'cold' shows no fuel with orange light flashing, then after driving about 3 miles (sometimes sooner) the gauge comes back to life and stays OK. Next morning, same situation. There's been a low pressure and a high pressure fuel pum...

Re: Battery (spacer)
Weird, I didn't need any spacers for my 096 (Varta E44) battery. Have you removed the bottom steel plate or something? I had to remove the plastic clip that's mounted on the steel plate (the one that kept the small battery from sliding around). But if the steel plate is kept in position I don't see...
