all other joints are ok. with the wheel off today i levered the hub up and down and you can hear it knocking at the top of the strut near where it bolts to the arch. you cant see any movement, just feel and hear it. can you get to the bearings through the top in the engine bay or do you need the str...

for a few months now ive had a slight knocking from my front suspension so bought a pair of drop links as it sounded like em. jacked front up today and levered under tyres but both links were fine!! i did notice that the top of both front struts were knocking where they bolt to the arch. does that s...

the reason for asking is that mine have been yellowing over the last 2 years. ive been using lens restorer fluid every 3 months to keep them clear but its getting boring now!

Had the MOT this morning and straight through, goodeee! he did say the front discs and pads look poor but worked well on rollers. I already had new discs and pads in the boot so he let me do them whilst he sorted the paperwork :lol: they were knackered but i got 65k out of them so cant complain. jus...

I love driving it every time even after 5 years it still feels a nice place to be. I intend to keep the car and do a rolling resto over time when things need doing as it will be a classic before you know it.

Thanks for the welcome. I think it was a bargain when i think back. It had done 60k, full pug history, a great shade of met dark grey which really suits it, built in sat nav, climate control etc etc, no rust or damage all for £900. Ive now done 120k and all ive had to do is change the rear drop link...

Hi all, just a note to say hello. thought it was about time i joined the forum seeing as ive had my 406 for about 5 years!! :lol:
I never used to like french cars until i got the 406 (it was so cheap it was worth a go....the best and most reliable car ive had! a definate peugeot convert.
