Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

Clicks "XUD11 BTE" - "To create the page, start typing in the box below" Hmm. Clicks "see the help page for more info" - "To create the page, start typing in the box below" Runs off screaming . Lol :cheesy: Editing Wikis does require a little bit of special formatting to get links and tables (etc) ...

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

Cool - I just added an arbitary (read - empty :cheesy:) knowledge base to the front page. Just some categories as a starter (though they're not proper Wiki categories (yet), I still need to figure out how to make those!)

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

I've never made a brand new Wiki site from scratch before, just edited some pages (my first being Wikipedia's entry for the Dounreay Nuclear Power Station in Caithness, near where I used to live - the article no longer looks anything like it did when I made it though as others have been busily editi...

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

Did you register? If not, then you need to :) Once you register, you should receive an e-mail with a link in it - clicking the link confirms that you are the owner of your e-mail address, and then you'll be able to post it. I know a little about Wiki editing, so if you post something that doesn't wo...

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

OK, the wiki page for the "About the 406" entry is updated. Please fill in the blanks and correct the mistakes (there'll be loads, I'm sure  ) Anyone new to wikis - if the text is red, it means there's no article there yet, but if you want to contribute, click on the red link and start creati...

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

I've copied the orig wiki page to http://www.pug406.com/wiki/index.php/Peugeot406 to test and try and understand how it works, bit of a steep learning curve on this :cheesy: Smashin' :cheesy: This sorta thing makes you appreciate all the work that goes into making Wikipedia so great. Just wish bugg...

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

Nutski - can you install the InfoBox template on MediaWiki? This is a dead useful template that gives an information panel on the right-hand side; it's also a great way to link related articles. Look at the Peugeot 406 article on Wikipedia to see what I mean. I copied and pasted the InfoBox entry on...

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

Given you all a "Starter-For-Ten" - a brief history of the Peugeot brand - nothing about the 406 yet

Just proves the content creation and editing facilities of the Wiki work fine.

Re: He's just NOT that into you - True or False?

The Wifely Person asked me out, and we're still together 7 years after getting married.

I am one of the "too-shy-to-ask" crowd (it's a BIG club, really).

Cheers
Graeme

Re: Anyone up for a challenge?

I can get to the http://wiki.pug406.com server, but the MediaWiki web service forwards my HTTP request to http://wiki.pug406.com/406wiki/index.php/Main_Page , which says: Not Found The requested URL /406wiki/index.php/Main_Page was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was en...

Re: happy exec owner

Nice bit of haggling, and welcome to the club!

I have the 1999 model LX 1.8l petrol with fuel injection, and it doesn't seem to be as thirsty as I first expected.

That ding in the bonnet should be easy enough to fix (if not, I'm sure it will be quite easy to pick up a replacement 406 bonnet).

Could I fit one to my 406 LX D9? Is it easy/cheap/worthwhile to do?
