Re: 2.1td changing glow plugs
Have you had a look in the Haynes manual? It does cover the 2.1. I know when I did the plugs in my 1.9 I had to rip out chunks of air duct to get at them, and the NDE one was buried right behind the fuel pump. I got the world's smallest engineer to try it but even her tiny, child-like hands could do...

Re: 2.2 sri TPS issue
Drive by wire, eh? On the Omega I've always found the position of the accelerator pedal to me more of a suggestion to the ECU than an actual governor. Give me mechanical any day!

Re: 406 in need
You know it pains me to say it, but the Omega owners' forum is much, much bigger than this one. In addition to usual gremlins, they've got people stripping down engines, hand-building Lotus Carltons or converting cars for drifting on a daily basis. And when you have a problem - including road-side b...

Re: after market dump valve no noise? :(
I just plain love the basic turbo whine, can't hear it so well in the Omega but in the 406 once it went north of 2k there was this wonderful sound like a small jet engine winding up

I'd imagine it loses its pure whiteness, goes a bit dull and grey? Maybe 'fade' isn't the right word...
Meh, paint the bugger day-glo green and have done with it ^_^

Re: Deep scratch repair and matching paint...
If your paintwork has faded, you might find that a good rub with T-cut or equivalent will restore its lustre. Failing that, just be cautious with the touch up paint and try to test it in an inconspicuous area ^_^

Re: after market dump valve no noise? :(
Theoretically , it's used to ditch accumulated pressure once your foot comes off the gas thus preventing your turbo surging as supply massively outstrips demand and therefore prolonging the life of the blower. Realistically, it's used to make your car go 'WOOOOSH' when you change gear, thus making ...

Re: need to replace our 406
For whatever reason, a car is worth a hell of a lot less than the sum of its parts. Breaking it could net you a very tidy stack of cash, it's merely a question of whether or not you have the time, inclination, tools and facilities required.

Yup, six months away = no tax ^_^
Also, 25K for a second off is nothing these days if I may say. Baby officers like me can expect to start anywhere from 25-40 depending on the employing company.

Re: The Ugliest Cars
Which was that people carrier with the double-dipped bonnet thingy. Like a ledge running under the windscreen? That was tear-the-eyes-out fugly, that. The PT cruiser is pretty awful too. And although it's not exactly ugly, a Smart Car always makes me double over with laughter when they go past. I du...
