Re: Random connector in engine bay?
We get this every so often. It's pretty much as you say, for some non fitted extra, or it's a universal loom that covers different models. On your continued rummages, you'll probably find some more.

Spotted this the other day on the Royal Parade lights in Plymouth. They were for the pedestrians to tell you how long you had left to cross.
And all the dear old ladies took not a bit of notice of any of it. Bless.

Re: Throttle Position Sensor
It's so easy that it's not true. Look for the throttle cable on top of the engine. This joins straight on to the tps which is a quarter turn rheostat type thing. You will only need a 10mm socket and it'll come off. Find a way, e.g. counting the grooves, of marking the spring clip on the end of the c...

Seeing that I posted it from my phone I was just amazed it appeared at all and missed the glaring spelling mistake. I will of course be whipping myself daily as a penance for the next week.steve_earwig wrote:[spelling nazi]Err, that's French for fact [/spelling nazi]Busman wrote:fait

Re: Pulling Problems
Hi, Thanks for your swift reply, I'll start looking at the fueses etc. But could it be the Mass Aif Flow Sensor? or the Throttle Accelerator Pontentiometer sensor? Kind Regards Nimmes123 Yes it could be either or both of those. Try and unplug the maf electrical connector, go for a drive and see if ...

Re: ''Dead Lock''?
Yep, all 3 of my 406s have had dead locks and no alarm. On the 52 plate they operate the first time you lock it, on the V reg and D8 you use the little button on the remote.

Re: 406 2.2 hdi same as 807's????
Bitter experience with modern vehicles leads me to the conclusion that one should never assume that a part or some software will be the same across all 406's let alone other Peugeots. There will no doubt be a bewildering variety to the software to thwart your very noble plan.

Re: Shaken not stired!
We talk about this a lot in my driver training mode. The thorny question being when are you old? In my 20s 45 seemed very old, now I am 45, that's not the case. People also age at radically different rates.
I fear this is one of those things that is easier said than done.

Re: Estate Boot Seats
Be careful of the insurance thing, you might have given them an excuse not to pay out if you have a shunt. Isn't there some thing about undeclared modifications? Mine has a line similar to ''is the car different in any way to how it left the factory?'' I'd just hate you to have some horrible crash a...

Re: Vacuum oil change
Last time I dropped a sump after sucking it dry, it was really dry and nothing in it at all. But we do have good commercial stuff at work. And we also come across new stuff with no sump drains at all, so it seems to be the way things are going. And I guess you never get all the oil out what ever way...
