Re: Brembo conversion

Also, the Coupe Hoggars have a scalloped section on the rear of the spokes to clear the Brembo calipers I'm sure you'll be fine with some spacers if you are concerned Are you definitely going ahead with the Brembo conversion? The calipers are good, if sometimes noisy , but the V6 Coupe had the same ...

Re: 406 v6 manual FOR SALE

Oh I see. I like the Coupe - I had an early model v6 for a while and I enjoyed it, but I parted with it as I missed the 5 door practicality.... They seem to be fetching a decent money at the moment, have a peek on eBay to see a guide price. There is also the option of looking at 406coupeclub.org to ...

Re: 406 v6 manual FOR SALE

Curious....

I'm guessing it's a saloon car?

I wouldn't mind a V6 estate if I could find one ( when they pop up they are overpriced.. )

Re: Changed Battery now car will not start (Immobiliser fault)

I agree with Doggy.

Try the procedure again ( nothing to lose..! ) and see what happens - and if you have a spare key then try it, or if you are inadvertently using a spare key then try the usual key - not all spare keys have the transponder chip.

Re: Throttle does not respond at all (only sometimes)

I agree with Peter and suggest to look for water ingress in the driver's footwell and boot cubby hole by the CD changer

I wouldn't choose to swap the ECU as it's paired to the BSI which is more bother than it's worth ( unless it's a last resort )

Re: Blip Key

I thought it was key in the ignition and press for 10 seconds......? Can't remember the exact way but maybe try a few more times. I've got into the habit now of never leaving the keys in the ignition, unless I put the driver's window down, ever since my car has a hissy fit once and locked all the do...

Re: Passed mot again!

I threw my 406 in for it's MOT today, only 6 weeks late... I did also give it the obligatory yearly wash too. Passed 😁 Only advisory was a mismatched front tyre ( I had to fit the spare ) and slight rust on the rear cross member - still okay for a few more years though. Another year of abuse for the...

Re: Wanted: 19" wheels

There are companies around here that charge about £40 a wheel for a refurb ( I need to do my Volvo's new wheels soon ) which may be cheaper.

So do you have spacers for these wheels, in sure the Coupe is a different offset.

Have you driven the car with the MAF unplugged yet - try this next time you go for a drive.

Re: Late turbo kick in

The MAF sensor ( Mass Air Flow?) is a chunky sensor on the air intake pipe. It does also detect the boost in a way. The boost sensor I should imagine would be the MAP sensor ( Mass Air Pressure?) which is mounted on top of the intercooler The MAP sensor rarely fails, if anything there will be an air...

Re: Wanted sat nav remote

I have one in my glovebox for my SatNav* but seeing as the screen is almost completely illegible then I may as well pass on the remote to someone that can use it. I'll just replace my screen with a Type instead of I can be bothered. If the other guys don't send you a reply then I'll ping mine off to...

Is that a genuine Peugeot wheel, or an aftermarket one with Peugeot caps?

These look like Oz alloys.

Re: Gooood morning

I would change the MAF anyway if you are recommissioning, along with the air filter. Sluggish performance on the 2.2hdi is likely to be MAF, DPF or a vacuum leak/solenoid issue - I'm afraid you'll need to tackle one at a time When I bought my first 2.2hdi it was terrible, but after driving around it...

Re: Late turbo kick in

Hi. I agree you should swap the solenoid over, you can do this while they are still fitted to the bulkhead by swapping just the vacuum pipes and the connectors. There's should be two, unless you have a very late model that had 3. Not sure why it's performs worse when it's warm, maybe the coolant tem...

Re: New car??

I still cannot be drawn to a new car even if they are better in every way ( economy, safety, eco friendly etc ) because I'm an old stubborn stick-in-the-mud.... My 406 is plodding along despite being abused on a regular basis for doing dump trips and moving shiz for friends* and family+ for a...
