Re: How Long Can Diesel Be Stored For?

From my experience almost indefinitely, its not volatile like petrol so evaporates very little. I think if its in bright sunlight you may get things growing in it but kept dark and cool and looks clear it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Anyone breaking a 406?

Hi Kelv

I have had mostly mechanical parts off it, I think most of the trim is intact. Its been parked in the field since the electronics gave up about 10 years ago but still looks nearly new! Let me know what you are looking for.

Re: Radio issues

Connect a few feet of wire to the centre of the aerial plug and see how it works, if its better that will prove that its an aerial fault. if there is a capacitor connected in the system somewhere it will read open circuit but I can't remember from mine. Is your aerial at the front or the back of the...

Re: 405 vs 406 ride quality

I also had a 405 estate but can't remember what the ride was like but I have had several 406's and reckon they have got the ride/handling balance just right. Prior to these I ran hydropnumatic Citroens so I do like my comfort and the 406 didn't disappoint.

Re: How to remove break servo?

I had the servo fail on one of mine, the diaphragm developed a leak, I read about the replacement hassle and decided to get rid of it, it had done over 200k so didn't seem worth it. The brakes still worked but you had to leave yourself plenty of room. Before you condemn the servo check all the pipes...

Has it got hard progressively or suddenly? Is the 'hardness' the same all the way down?

Re: New member, new car. Peugeot 406 Executive, HDI 110, W Reg

Welcome to the forum Josh. I don't have a 406 now but I ran the Hdi estates for 10 years and reckon they are the best cars Peugeot ever made, they have the ride/handling balance just right and are very reliable and no to difficult to work on, they also have the best headlights of any car I have had ...

Re: Water pump fixing ?

You can usually see when the pump is leaking as there is a drain hole at the bottom, if they get very worn they get noisy but if yours is not noisy or leaking I wouldn't worry about it for the moment.
