Re: Air bag fault / warning
Take care my friend & thank you for all your help :cheesy: You're welcome  But in the end, all the schematics I gave you were pretty useless :( as it turned out the box itself was broken. Hope you & your family are well :D Thanks, we're doing fine. Kids are growing older (and so are my wife a...

Re: Flywheel locking tool for 406 automatic
Anyway my woes are not over as the car has also been over fuelling and smokes a bit on idle which I think could be a leak on the turbo to intercooler hose, usually I am not able to squeeze the hose flat when the engine is revved but now can do this and hear air pressure escaping somewhere. There is...

Re: Flywheel locking tool for 406 automatic
Ignore my last sentences, it seems that Citroen does not have an adjustable camshaft gear. Anyway, thanks for the tip!

Re: Flywheel locking tool for 406 automatic
Thanks, good tip and good explanation. Next belt job I will do this. I replaced two belts without doing this, after the last one (on my wife's Citroen) the engine made a grinding sound until I loosened the tensioner roller enough. Although I was not really comfortable with the low tension, at least ...

Re: Flywheel locking tool for 406 automatic
Over tensioning is a possibility, but a more common error is failing to slacken the bolts locking the camshaft pulley to its hub while adjusting the tension. (This allows the tension to equalise on either side of the camshaft pulley, necessary because the tensioner acts on one of the two runs from ...

Re: End of the road I guess…
I would shop around a bit. Surely the head gasket replacement can be done for less?

Re: Throttle and Speeds Sensors
The "DocBackup" disk gives me the following diagram for a HDI 90: Speed sensor.jpg The pedal sensor is shown this diagram (note: the diagram is for the "Bosch" ECU, there is also one for the "Siemens" ECU but it lists the same part number for the pedal sensor (16 072 724 80): Sensor Pedal.jpg

Re: increase in coolant operating temperature after drain, flush, bleed and refill
Could it be just the coolant temperature sensor that is giving wrong values? Starting the engine then immediately seeing an "overheating" warning sounds that in fact there is no overheating at all. So maybe just a sensor issue. On my HDI the coolant level in the overflow tank is always pretty low. T...

Re: increase in coolant operating temperature after drain, flush, bleed and refill
Thanks Peter. What is it that lowers the boiling point - the addition of the steel seal? Why is that then - just curious! It's just the pressure that increases the boiling point. As long as the coolant system is closed, it can build up pressure. Water under pressure boils at a higher temperature th...

Re: Help with airbag plugs please
This is the diagram I could find on the SEDRE disc for the COM2000 unit for your vehicle (I guessed your DAM/RPO number to be around 9350): The meaning of the color codes: BA: white. BE: blue. BG: beige. GR: gray. JN: yellow. MR: brown. NR: black. OR: orange. RG: red. RS: pink. VE: green. VI: mauve....

Re: How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
Was that from official servicebox website you downloaded them? Or some 'other' source? Would love to get a copy if they are still available somewhere. No, not official. I think you can buy (read: "get a download link") via various sellers on Ebay. IIRC I found my set via a well-known peer to peer f...

Thanks, that is really useful to know! I always thought that those pipes were somehow welded or glued together. Knowing this makes life a lot simpler

Re: How to determine the correct part if there is Since/Until OPR?
Are you using an offline backup of servicebox? Where did you get yours from? Yes, I managed to download a set of .ISO files containing the "SEDRE" and "DocBackup" (ServiceBox) DVDs. Although not the latest versions, they perfectly cover our types of vehicle. I mounted the DVDs onto a "VirtualBox" i...
