Re: Peugeot Festival 2019

That's unfortunate; I was looking forward to hearing more about America, the motorhome, and the C5.

Hope you get everything sorted out.

Re: 1.6HDi DV6 Engine - DPF questions

Every time you remove the fuel cap the fuel tank is dosed with a fixed amount of additive. The computer calculates the amount of additive remaining (there is no level sensor) and when it's run out you get a warning message. The additive builds up in the particle filter where it acts as a catalyst to...

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

IIRC domestic heating accounts for a larger proportion of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions than does road transport.

Re: Anyone had a Smart Meter fitted at home?

I believe the trick with smart meters is that your tarriff will vary hour by hour so that you pay more during peak hours. Large consumers have had this for years; organistions that have to do carbon accounting have half hourly meters. IIRC a branch of M&S in the south west (to where it is quite expe...

Re: 406's.........the future is bleak!!

If you think of your car as being an appliance like your washing machine that you turn on when you want to use it, and if you belive in dealer stamps, then I can see you you might be surprised and disppointed when something breaks. The sort of people that would join a forum like this aren't like tha...

Re: 406's.........the future is bleak!!

After much navel gazing it was a 407 for me too. It'll be 6 years this October and I've put 120k on it and I still love it. I've since briefly had a 508 and by comparisson the 407 is so strange that it would make more sense badged as a Citroen, and the build and materials on the 407 is embarrassing ...

Re: Letter from America

Boring stuff but seriously people: take a minute to think about using salary sacrifice to increase your pension contributions. Because compound interest adds up; £1 in your pension today is worth £2.60 in 20 years time at 5%. Normally you pay into your pension out of your post-tax take-home pay and ...

I noticed when I was in Canada that 'gas' is half the price but the engines are twice as big.

Link: https://www.pugfest.co.uk/ We first went in 2011; there were 4 of us and none of us had been before, although we had met for the first time earlier that year at French Car Show. After watching cars go up the hill climb track in the morning we got round to thinking "shall we have a go?". Inevit...

I once put 100% biodiesel into my 406 HDi 90 and it went into limp mode.
