Re: How many forum users still actually drive a 406
I do. It's my day to day car. Estate 110 hdi. Now self employed I was going to get a van. Filled the back end with my carpentry gear and it swallowed everything. Don't think I'll bother with the van yet, will see how it goes. Just need some bars to go on the rails so I can move some wood about. So c...

WANTED - ROOF BARS
I'm looking for some roof bars for my 406 estate. Not the factory rails, bars that go across so I can carry lengths of wood etc.
I live in the Midlands.

Re: Breaking 406s 1.9td & HDi estates
Hi, I'm looking for the trim on the offside front wing that makes up the protective edging are you able to get that off in one piece and send it? It has three lugs and a small dowl type fitting, very fragile. I might also be interested in the radio/cd player but not sure if they're interchangeable d...

TRIM
Does anyone know where I might get some trim? I need the small plastic part that sits on the rear edge of the wing (offside) which makes up the edging along the door. 2003 20 HDI. Estate. My bit flew off when jet washing, and the lugs have sheared. Is there a specialist about for these motors? It's a...

Re: MOT YET AGAIN
Yeah, ideally I'd like to get my hands on a 3.0 or even 2.2 high spec estate, but I suppose gooduns are like rocking horse sh*t nowadays.
Anyway, my old 2.0 110 has another 12 months ticket so all is good with the world.

MOT YET AGAIN
Like going to the dentist the MOT, for me, is one big stress event. But today the old lugger went straight through under the new system. 2 advisories: one a wiper. The other, some pins/bushes in the rear that need monitoring. £100 if it needs doing. Well happy! But check this baby out. https://www.a...

Turbo sound??
My motor goes really well: 406 est 98000 miles 2. HDI
it might be my ears but I think it's developed a sort of hissing sound when foot to the floor and revs mid range. Nothing on general motoring and nothing at lower revs. No discernable smoke from the exhaust.
Is it anything to worry about?

MOT
Blimey, it's getting near the annual nail biting visit to the MOT bay.
Is it worth changing the air filters and all that for the emissions test?
Not done more than 7000 since late change
Waddaya think

Crazy central locking
OK you might know the answer to this, or perhaps have a good laugh at least: I tried to marry up the ignition key to get the remote working again. Didn't work, again, despite following grateful step by step instructions from another member. Must be me I'm thinking. However, it knocked out the centra...
