New Moderators

Right, well, lets throw them into the deep end! Lets all welcome DaiRees , mjb and teamster1975 ... As a result, SPAM should now pretty much stop. There is a downside though. Any new user who has less than 5 posts will have ALL posts placed in a "queue". These posts wont show up to everyone else apa...

Re: Outlook Express house keeping

At work I've got 375 emails in my inbox at the moment and 449 in my sent box - I just don't get the time to tidy up! I've created some sub folders to archive stuff into but being a business I need to keep most things for legal reasons (contracting). Do you find it's easy to miss some emails because...

Moderator Positions

Ok folks, whos up for being a moderator? I'm looking for around 2 or 3 just now. That should cover us, and future growth for a while.. Ideally you will have been active on the boards for a while, know the regulars, and are able to spot spammers. Oncewe get the mods in, any newly registered users wil...

Re: Outlook Express house keeping

There is a setting in Outlook Express to change the amount of time needed before the email is marked read. I cant remeber off hand where it is, but you can change it to something more managable like 20 seconds. :D Yeah, I was playing about with the board last night - I updated to the latest version ...

Re: WoW spamming

These arnt bot's. These are actual humans spamming. Thats why theyre getting past the captchas and the new user registration restrictions I've enabled. The only real hard way to stop them is to manually verify each account thats registered. We dont have millions of new members everyday, however I do...

DB Clean Up

I'm going to be cleaning up the server, some old files, some database upgrades tonight... I'm keeping an eye on the online users, and as soon as everyone pops off, ill start the work.. IT shouldn't take any more than a couple of hours, and hopefully no one will notice. I'll try and hold off until th...

Re: Google ads bar

Unfortunately guys I've had to sort of shift the ads around a bit to a more prominent position. I accept that some may find it annoying, but the ads bring in less that $50 a year (yeah - dollars). Along with donations (which theres been none of for around 7 months), thats the only revenue the site g...
