Re: We all love 406's but what do you hate about them?

Mine mists up too but the defogger button seems to do the trick pretty quickly, even with a cold engine. All the cars I've had in recent years seem to do this too. Maybe recent cars have better sealing but I'd hate to have them without aircon as you really need have to wait 'til the engine warms up ...

Re: We all love 406's but what do you hate about them?

- Feeling like I'm driving in a land-rover as the seat seems very high for the lowness of the car? (are they supposed to feel like that?) Probably not, mine's cranked up high as it goes, maybe yours is too - telescopic lever on the side of the seat. - The hand brake, mine too only engages fully on ...

Re: Handbrake trouble

A decent motor factors, not Pug as you'll be cancelling your holiday plans... I'd reckon making sure your cables are free, scuffing up the inside of your drums with emery paper, cleaning (wire brush/ brake cleaner) and scuffing up the shoes (outside and wearing a dust mask of course) and sticking it...

Funnily enough, my bro says his Lemon's the same.

Incidently I've had an offer on the D8 - a 2006 Hiundie Gitz with a dent in the roof, plus 6,000 Eurines. Sounds good. Hold on, I have to give them 6,000, plus my D8. All together now: FARK OFF!!!!

They're the only cars I've ever had where you can't just pull the wipers away from the screen when you're washing it. Is there a particular point to this or is it (as I suspect) just stupid?

Re: bought my new car!

Good luck James. I reckon it'll either be a complete disaster due to severe lack of maintainance and you'll end up breaking it or a great car after a little fettling. Sooo cheap though, worth taking the risk!

Re: magic fuel or faulty indicator?

Sticking, or stupidly inaccurate... I'm not as experienced as some of the guys on here so I can't give you a specific answer, but I would suggest carrying a can of fuel around with you. It might even be an idea to let it run out as it might give you a better idea what's going on. Handbooks online at...

Re: Any tips on cleaning up RuSty BrAkE DiScS?

I'm not sure how scored the disks would end up. In days of old you could get harder pads for doing this sort of thing. When me and my dad took the back brakes on my D9 apart we found one of the sliders has siezed and the outside of one disk was a mass of corrosion. As they were going on the D8 to se...

Re: B***dy amatures!!!!!!!

It wouldn't surprise me too much if it came off the productiuon line like that (there was always the tale of the Escort that came off the production line with one disk brake on the front and one drum...) Could you take the remains of the old pads along to your factors and see if they could match the...

Model? I'm meant to be driving a model?? Hi, I'm Steve and my statistics are 42, 34, 32 and I like puppies and choklit. I've been on this disater of a planet for almost 43 years now, when possible I drive a 2004 2.0 HDi estate, probably an executive but they don't badge them that way here, and my ex...

Oiled emery paper, apparently.

Or get them skimmed... Yeah, right.
