ServiceBox alternative
Is there free alternative of PSA Service Box? Since they switched to paid access it is hard to identify parts. One good feature was the box at upper right where I can enter OEM code and the system displays the topics (schemes) where it is used. For the moment I have to replace 1628.HC valve but not ...

Sun light sensor
Is there socket for the sun light sensor? I found one second hand but it ends with a cut wires. It seems my sensor returns wrong values and I want to replace it. Is there known behaviour of air condition if this sensor does not work well?

Re: FAP cleaning
If I am not wrong, the FAP has some grid in the middle and it does the job. Why it is not removable and when FAP needs replacement to replace only the grid, not the whole body. It will be 2-3 times cheaper than complete FAP.

Re: FAP cleaning
What is the maximum life of FAP in practice? I know it is planned to work 100-200,000 miles. But is it possible to work e.g. 500,000 miles without cleaning or something similar?

Re: Checking coolant level
Very old topic but I am with the same question. Not sure where are the Min and Max. Is this the MIN level (yellow liquid on pic) or this is the Max? Mine is little lower and I am not sure is it below MIN or near MAX. Will this do? http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd196/steve_earwig/funnybit.jpg Hm...

Re: Timing belt replacement
Is it possible wrong condition of Deflection / Guide Pulley or Belt Tensioner of v-ribbed belt to increase fuel consumption? Or can they cut this belt?

Re: Timing belt replacement
Your noise is most likely a bearing going. I think about bearing of A/C compressor. Is it failing "on time" like alternator, starter, etc? I refurbished both starter and alternator and probably now is time for compressor. Is it possible to have increased fuel consumption because of this bearing? PS...

Re: old topic, 406 replacement ?
Audi A4 (B7, 2006-2007) 1.9/116hp? Estate version is smaller than 406 but not a big problem. Not sure for the engine. It seems is not common rail.

Power Steering Pump
Probably I have to repair or replace the power steering pump. Repairing of my pump maybe is better way but it is slower and needs 2+ days. I can find 2nd hand pump from another 2.2hdi 406 but not sure whether it will be the same. Are there different types of pumps for the same engine?

Re: Timing belt replacement
The belt is 3.5 years old (Contitech kit). If I replace the belt I plan to keep current water pump. It was replaced last time. On the other hand there is low scraping noise from time to time while driving. Is it possible to come from water pump? The other suspected reason for the noise is the power ...

Timing belt replacement
What is the normal/recommended mileage for timing belt replacement? I know about 60,000 km (~40,000 miles) but Peugeot service is advertizing their timing belt set to stand nearly twice (100,000km). Is their belt special? My current timing belt is Contitech at 60,000 km and not sure what to do. Can ...

Re: old topic, 406 replacement ?
Old topic but actual for me. What about 308SW or 5008 ? 308SW (estate, 1.6HDI) looks good as size but don't know is it "successful" model like 406 or not. It is smaller than 406 but the weight is the same, don't know why. Most of them have panoramic roof which is not good for old car. I hope I can f...
