Re: Dpf non 406

Yep, when I bought it there was soot around the turbo but I think that was down to the clamp being the wrong size, correct size clamp fitted and no more soot. This is the Gti model and uses Bosch Ecu, a friend had his 307 mapped and yes that was a bench job, it was a Siemens. Anyway I am having the ...

Re: Dpf non 406

+1 Do you know what ecu it uses? You may be able to remove / pressure wash / thoroughly dry and refit it to gain some breathing space. That's what 2.2 406 coupe owners did before we found out how to delete it from the ecu. May still be a howto on the coop forum? Unfortunately I think the dpf/cat is...

Re: Dpf non 406

Not a lot of info on the web re this particular model it may just need a top up of fluid and not removal. I have found the tanks position from service box, next to fuel tank not in boot as some people on web have said, and fluid type. I can get the fluid and a refill kit, £40 for a litre and tubes, ...

Dpf non 406

As the title says, I have a 1.6 206 hdi, 110, as well as my 406 and it has flashed up the. Dpf needs unblocking. I have been quoted £400 - 450 to remove the guts and delete the dpf from the ecu. Supposedly it is different from the 406 as it has a pressure differential sensor to contend with. I have ...

Re: Mot fail.

They had quoted £140 to do both droplinks and £160 to change the cv boot.
On a ramp that's probably an hours work with air tools, bargain.

Mot fail.

My lads 406 failed its mot, halfords, failed on an outer cv boot and both droplinks, the rubber boot had perished. "That'll be £300 to fix sir". Lad made quick phone call to me and told them it's ok we'll do it ourselves. "oh" says manager "haven't we offered you a deal. We could do it for £150." It...

Re: Alloy calculation

Remember that the profile figure is for the tyre wall so you should double the 10mm to. 20mm and as an inch is 25.4mm the difference will be 5.4mm, less than one quarter of an inch in diameter.

Re: battery

My battery packed up yesterday but I had been jumping it for a couple of days, battery to battery, battery to earth on gearbox. Went to a battery wholesaler who put a new battery on, never bothered with waiting for bsi to go to sleep or worried about jumping it over the past few days and never had a...

Re: Locks and indicators

The lock problem turned out to be the switch on the drivers door near the lever that opens the door. It must have been stuck, pulled it a little harder and all's good.

Re: Thieving scum strike again

Don't worry about it. I had mine knicked when the car was on the drive, put a bit of pipe and 2 clamps on and it has gone through 2 MOT's no problems. As an advantage it does make the car a little better low down.

Re: Locks and indicators

Connections underneath the carpet was my first thought. Yeah I have read the battery disconnect re 3 minute delay to let bsi go to sleep and how to wake it up again. Hopefully it will be something simple as he is moving house on Friday and I don't really want to be fixing cars and helping him move. ...

Locks and indicators

My lad just phoned me he's working nights and as he was locking his car the indicators started flashing and doors locking and unlocking. He disconnected the battery and then reconnected it and it locked ok. Will do a reset tomorrow and then look at door wiring at weekend. It is a 53 plate hdi, anyon...

MOT advisory

Just passed mot, third in a row with no issues, and received two advisories.

1. Undertrays fitted obscuring some underside components.
2.Engine covers fitted obscuring some engine bay components.

So what is going to happen when a car with fully enclosed bays go for the mot?

Discuss.
