Mine fell off this morning. Unfortunately it wasn't a clean falling off, I saw 4 bits int the rear view mirror so just kept going. checked everything underneath when I got home and everything looks OK some of the fastenings were still in place.

Re: 2 different cars, 2 oil changes, both came up short

2 years or 20k is a crazy amount of time / distance for oil no matter how good or well developed it is. Our passat is on 10k oil changes and the 924 is changed every 6 months.

Re: 2 different cars, 2 oil changes, both came up short

Modern cars  with the 924 drain the oil change the filter prop the oil can up with the spout in the filler hole wait for the can to fully drain then cap back on and done. None if this 3.75lt or 4.25lt nonsense like the passat or other cars I've had. A 5lt jug of oil takes it right up to the fi...

Engine mount

The passengers side engine mount (above the gearbox) seems to be on its last legs and has a fair amount of movement. Does anyone have the part number or a link to the correct part. Most places ive looked only list the drivers side or bottom mount. Is this the correct part? https://rover.ebay.com/rov...

Re: Peugeot 508 2.2HDi GT - talk to me...

How are you getting 46-48 mpg out of a v6 406? I can just about scrape 48-49 out of the 110 GTX and that's driving it like miss daisy is in the back. The best I ever got out of my v6 calibra was 38 mpg on a run down to central France. I always take extra urban figures with a pinch of salt, combined ...

As much as I love our diesel passat and the get up and go it has for a 1.9, you can't beat the smell of burnt petrol out the back of a 30 odd year old car. Realistically you'll never get 50+ mpg out of a petrol in the real world regardless what the manufacturer says.

Re: My GTX

Had a bit of bad luck yesterday :( a 6" nail stuck in the tyre, as usual too close to the side wall to plug and patch i also didn't notice until it was getting very low so tyre would have been buggerd either way. https://i.imgur.com/GJrInKp.jpg Anyway I dropped the wheel off to have a new tyre fitte...

Re: Glow plug anti-seize?

They seem to talk about re-mapping in hushed tones. Gentlemen don't re-map their vehicles, they buy the right one in the 1st place. Notsure what Audi forums you've been on but the ones I've been on its a regular topic, the vw passat forum I use you'd struggle to find a user who's car isn't remapped.

Re: Glow plug anti-seize?

Not sure on the 3.0 v6 tdi but the glow plugs in my passat had been there 11 years when I came to change them, they came out with no fuss at all. It's best to do while the engine is warm, take it for a run then try not to burn yourself.
