Re: Hdi Estate O/S headlight

The problem seems to be an o/c lead, I took all the fuses out and tested them, all OK but no voltage on the dipped light lead, I thought the problem would have been an the back of the fuse board as I have had problems like that before, but as I didn't want to take the dashboard out I took an easier ...

Hdi Estate O/S headlight

My dipped headlight failed so I naturally assumed as you do that the bulb had gone, replaced it, still no light, checked the old bulb OK. I have no voltage or earth on the plug, one side reads about 25 ohms to earth the other about 50. Any ideas? I'm hoping that there is a relay somewhere and its no...

Re: 2.2Hdi fuel consumption

I normally drive with a glass slipper, that has given me an average of 55.4 mpg over the last 6,000 or so miles according to the readout on the 406, so low to mid 40s from the 2.2 seems very poor to me, it seems that some others are doing better so I think something must be amiss with it. Thanks all...

Re: 2.2Hdi fuel consumption

Thanks for that. I had thought that perhaps the balancer shaft system sapped some power as the 2.1XM is more economical than the 2.5 which has them also the extra weight and power will have some effect, but I don't use or need the power so I would have been happier with a 2.0L, but as I anly paid £3...

2.2Hdi fuel consumption

This is not strictly Peugeot but it is related. My 2.0L Hdi 406 does about 60 mpg at a steady 60 mph and averages about 55 mpg, I now also have a a 2.2 Hdi C5 which barely manages 50 mpg under the same conditions and averages only about 45 mpg driven in the same manner over the same routes which see...

Re: 406 rear suspension

Mine seems to be running with about an inch of negative camber across the wheel which looks a lot, but if there is no further adjustment I will have to run it as it is and see what happens.

Thanks for your comments.

406 rear suspension

Hi Folks I'm new here, after over 20 years of Citroen hydropnumatic ownership I have now bought a 406 Hdi estate, and brilliant it is - apart from the ride :frown: I recently changed the rear suspension top links not realising there is an adjustment on the inner end and ruined a perfectly good pair ...
